Chicken popcorn recipe
Here is a simple recipe for chicken popcorn:
Ingredients:
- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
- Oil for frying
Instructions:
In a shallow dish, mix together the flour, salt, garlic powder, paprika, and black pepper.
In another shallow dish, whisk together the beaten egg and milk.
Place the breadcrumbs in a third shallow dish.
Dip each chicken piece in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess, then dip it in the egg mixture, and finally coat it with breadcrumbs.
Heat about 1 inch of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Once the oil is hot, add the chicken pieces in batches and fry until golden brown and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes per batch.
Use a slotted spoon to transfer the chicken popcorn to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
Serve with your favorite dipping sauce and enjoy!
Note: You can also bake the chicken popcorn in the oven instead of frying. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C), place the chicken pieces on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
